Job Summary
The Clinical and Channel Marketing Specialist will report to the Clinical Marketing Manager, with responsibilities for developing and executing global medical education programs intended for orthopedic surgeons, fellows, and residents in the geographical regions of EMEA, APAC, and/or LATAM.
In support of the company’s business objectives, implement key medical education and marketing initiatives for the spine and orthopedic markets, including promotional campaigns, customer communications, market research, and field sales support. Participating in industry trade shows and congresses, driving attendance to sponsored activities, workshops, and meetings.
Responsibilities:
Key Duties and Responsibilities – Professional Education (ProfEd)
- Assist in the development and deployment of a professional education curriculum related to the safe and effective use of Mizuho OSI products and technology associated with surgical techniques.
- Assist with the execution of didactic, hands-on, large-scale ProfEd events in partnership with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, International Sales, Distributors, and Clinical Marketing staff for all training needs.
- Assist with the creation and administration of online educational materials.
- Assist distributor medical education representatives with event information and planning related to agendas, follow-up letters, and scheduling of product demonstration.
- Assist Clinical Marketing Manager with fellows, faculty, and corporate events.
- Assist with the onboarding of new surgeon faculty and manage relationships with current KOLs.
- Partner with faculty surgeons to create content and continually improve educational programs.
- Provide support for local Implant Partner ProfEd courses, when required, and other ProfEd projects and programs that may be assigned from time to time.
- Assists the Learning and Development department with advanced educational courses and the preparation of educational materials.
- Collect sales leads from educational training courses, lab events and trade shows according to Mizuho OSI procedure and submit to the Product Marketing Manager (PMM) or lead management tool (SFDC) in an accurate and timely manner.
- In conjunction with the PMM, assist in training the sales personnel, internal personnel and/or customers on the use of our products for specific surgical procedures.
- Gather market intelligence on developments in hospital/clinical fields as they apply to Mizuho OSI products or future marketing opportunities. Report new product ideas or suggestions for product improvements to PMM in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain clinical marketing materials, e.g. clinical pearls, and clinically relevant sales support tools to align with marketing strategy.
- Aligned with the Region Manager and Clinical Marketing Manager, assist with supporting in-service training, contribute to sales opportunities, be a resource and provide clinical expertise.
Duties and Responsibilities – Marketing
- Identify key opportunities and drive engagement through participation in high-impact industry trade shows, virtual events, webinars and other relevant activities.
- Create and manage segment-specific digital education assets such as surgical videos, animations, and learning modules.
- Partners with Customer Marketing and Communications to Develops promotional plans, collaterals, and communications to drive surgeon attendance for educational events.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis related to medical education.
- Assist the team in assimilating and synthesizing information from various groups, including marketing, field sales, and customers.
- Work with the events planner to secure, plan, and execute side events with industry trade show organizations that align to the international strategy.
- Collaborate with Mizuho OSI Marketing team to help shape overarching marketing strategies, websites, e-marketing tools, and other digital marketing tactics that target our international markets.
- Work with Sales, Marketing, and R & D personnel to communicate product, clinical and market information that drive and support product development initiatives.
- Understand Mizuho OSI’s business objectives and the relationship between the Department and those objectives; to support and follow the Corporate Vision, Mission & Values Statements, to maintain the services and quality levels set by Mizuho OSI, and to continually enable Mizuho OSI to be a great place to work.
- Understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI’s internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires minimum 5 years of related experience.
- Excellent project management skills to successfully drive programs to completion.
- Excellent Computer Skills including Microsoft products of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Skype for Business.
- Education experience in a hospital environment is required.
- Clinical knowledge and experience is required; within Orthopedics, Trauma and Spine is preferred.
- Ability to function in a cadaveric lab environment, an operating room environment, and attend surgical procedures.
- Ability to effectively make formal and informal product presentations to individuals and large groups, including physicians, physician assistant, RNs and other OR staff.
- Facilitation and professional interpersonal skills to execute training curriculum and positively manage a diverse set of circumstances that surround difficult or demanding customer situations in a friendly and constructive manner, using adult learning-based guidelines.
- Ability to effectively interact within the medical professionals’ community in an ethical and professional manner, including but not limited to interactions with Physicians, Surgeons, Nurses, and Hospital Administrators.
- Knowledge of the creative activities involved in the development of marketing support materials.
- Knowledge of brand and product management.
- Ability to problem solve and quickly adapt program details as needed to support strategic initiatives.
- Strong oral and written communication in the English language, additional languages preferred.
- Able to provide a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel 50% of time, domestic and international. Some weekend travel may be required.
