Job Summary

The facilities Utility Technician position is a one stop shop for all building maintenance, construction, and janitorial needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Performs all work covered classified under facilities handyperson, including ongoing preventative maintenance and report work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed system such as toilet repair, light bulbs replacement, whiteboard installations, ceiling tile replacement, patching, and painting.
  • Assist with maintaining equipment and tools, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, building management systems, and building repairs.
  • Perform facility inspections and report on conditions and affecting operations.
  • Respond to onsite emergency(s) as part of the emergency responder during the shift.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and requirements as established within the facilities and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Dept.
  • Support afterhours building need and activities as required.
  • Perform janitorial duties.
  • Perform landscaping duties (cutting weeds/glass, pressure washing), daily yard trash removal, operating cardboard bailer and forklift.
  • Other assigned tasks as requested by the Facilities Dept., leadership, and Executive Teams request.

  • To understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI’s internal Quality Systems Policies, procedures and work instruction including, but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED, post-secondary education program in related field, such as electrical mechanical, building constructions, HVAC, CNC Machining and plumbing highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience as a facilities handyperson or janitor. Must have a valid CA driver’s license. Must be forklift certified or obtain certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Must have OSHA-10 General Industry certificate or obtain certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Mush have or obtain within 120 days- of hiring, First Aid CPR and AED certificate, and maintain these throughout the time of employment with Mizuho OSI Facilities Dept.
  • Must have ability to and knowledge on using original owner manual (OEM), electrical, air (pneumatic), hydraulic and battery powered hand tools and jacks.
  • Ability to efficiently use Microsoft products such as Outlook and experience using electronic mobile devices such as tables and mobile phones.
  • Sound judgement and ability to think quickly during emergencies.
  • Establish positive relationships with all internal partners and outside vendors for supplies and building maintenance.
  • Collaborator, diligent worker, effective interpersonal written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to prioritize meeting deadlines and utilize computer and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read Preventative Maintenance and Repair manuals, including blueprints.
  • Maintain a good positive professional interpersonal business relationship, and communications.
  • Fluent in English language with effective and clear verbal and written communication skills, as required to Process all Work Orders and Request, Open, Create and Close all work request and workorders. Must be able to read and comprehend the instructions provided within the request in English.
  • Must be able to switch task and job functions based on urgency and needs at a given time, and or during emergency, as defined by the department.
  • Participate in Facility programs with an expectation to continue learning and education, to grow as a professional and obtain required certificates for the job functions.
  • Heavy lifting and moving up to 70-pounds, computers and related equipment, heavy equipment, office furniture moves, relocation or assembly while reading blueprint instructions.
  • Work outside, on building rooftop in hot, cold, and breezy weather.
  • Must participate in all Company or Department related training and successfully accomplish or complete them.

Salary:  $26.92 - $31.25 plus four (4) % MBO
