Manufacturing Test Position Job Summary: 

 

  • The hands-on electrical engineer will collaborate closely with the manufacturing engineering and production teams to address and resolve system-level issues while also devising solutions that may originate at the PCA (or PCBA) level.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers to effectively address and mitigate issues, including component obsolescence, within our existing electronic product lineup.
  • Ensure the continued relevance of test fixtures and evaluate the need for upgrades or replacements to uphold their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engage in projects aimed at modernizing our existing products to enhance reliability and repeatability in assembly processes while advancing our systems into the next generation of technology.
  • Possess experience in fixture circuit design and development, along with proficiency in schematic capture and software programming tools such as SolidWorks, Altium, or equivalent platforms.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot PCBAs to the component-level, research alternates, develop test protocols, and update the documentation using Altium (preferred) or equivalent.
  • Design and develop PCBA test fixturing with hands-on experience. Having the skill set of LabView is a plus.
  • Prepare and implement test protocols and the supporting documentation needed.
  • Proficient in regulatory compliance and the stringent requirements applicable to a medical device company, encompassing documentation and testing procedures overseen by regulatory bodies like Intertek.
  • Cable assembly design and how to make and test cable assemblies.
  • Perform failure analysis and implement corrective action to improve quality, production and cost.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with a minimum of two years of experience in the medical device industry or related field.
  • A high level of proficiency and substantial experience in using PCB design software, specifically Altium.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in prototype development and troubleshooting, utilizing engineering documentation as a foundational resource.
  • Proficiency in reading and building schematics for machines, PCBAs, and cable assemblies.
  • Demonstrated Electromechanical and/or Process Engineering capability.
  • Demonstrated multitasking skills and the capability to consistently deliver multiple assignments on schedule. Excel in a fast-paced work environment while effectively managing numerous priorities.
  • Excellent internal and external customer focus with a high sense of urgency. Ability to interface effectively across the organization as well as outside the company.
  • Possess outstanding computer proficiency, adept at utilizing Windows OS-based applications and proficient in navigating web-based tools and services. Demonstrate efficient and effective utilization of Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and cloud-based platforms. Proficiency in C, C++ and Python is a plus.
  • English proficiency is a prerequisite, with the capacity to articulate thoughts clearly and effectively in spoken English. Proficiency in a second language is a valued asset.
  • Demonstrate the capability to articulate ideas clearly and proficiently in written form, employing technical aspects such as grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, and accurate spelling.

 

Desired Characteristics & Attributes:

  • Altium or equivalent, e.g., ORCAD.
  • SolidWorks or equivalent
  • Have a foundational grasp of statistics and its practical application.
  • Collaborations with other departments such as productions, R&D, and operations
  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent environment such as Oracle, or QAD.
  • Take a leadership role or actively engage in assigned initiatives centered around reducing material costs, boosting production capacity, and exploring opportunities for outsourcing assemblies, among others.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed, to support supplier audits and other business needs, as necessary.

Annual Salary:  $95,883  - $136,976 + Bonus
