Job Summary
The Network Administrator performs a broad array of technical support activities at both the end-user and network levels.
End-user support responsibilities include solving problems for members of the business community at our headquarters site as well as our globally dispersed field team. The Network Administrator designs and deploys computer configurations for laptop and desktop computers, providing services in the installation and support of hardware and software. Other electronic equipment, including mobile and desktop phone systems as well as tablet computers also fall into the Network Administrator’s realm of support.
At the network level, the Network Administrator supports the Network Engineer in configuring and deploying servers, switches and other network-based equipment. The Network Administrator participates in the development process for applying infrastructure solutions to business needs by defining, deploying and documenting internal and external user interfaces and support systems.
The Network Administrator will work directly with team members from IT as well as different functional areas throughout the Mizuho OSI organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the information processing needs of the entire Mizuho OSI employee community. Hardware platforms supported include laptops, desktops, tablets and phones. Software packages supported include Microsoft Windows, Office and other software tools. The Network Administrator will also learn and support other hardware and software components as required.
- Respond promptly to end-user requests for support, applying solid communications and interpersonal skills and always remembering that our mission is to provide excellent support to our fellow employees. Provide that support to field personnel (Sales and Technical Service) as well as headquarters team members.
- Ensure timely performance of all daily and scheduled system operations in a multi-server, multi-location environment.
- Understand, maintain and support network infrastructure and mission critical systems.
- Maintain, configure and install servers, printers, routers, firewalls, modems, hubs and switches, NAS devices and tape backup systems.
- Administer remote services and network operating systems.
- Perform user PC hardware and software installations and upgrades.
- Perform telephone PBX/ACD administration.
- Evaluate alternative hardware and software options then recommend, gain approval for and complete purchases.
- Assist in the creation of new procedures and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI’s internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Requires 0 to 2 years of directly related experience. Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to train users in basic computing topics and interact positively with all levels of management.
- Ability to solve problems independently and work under self-direction.
- Comfortable with most routine aspects of systems administration (e.g., configuration of Exchange mail systems, client system installation and configuration, printing systems, fundamentals of security, and installing service packs and third party software).
- Knowledge of fundamental networking computer environment concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, RAS, and NAS.
- Knowledge of IP routing and traffic analysis.
- Ability to create and maintain topology diagrams.
- Ability to write proposals and justifications for hardware and software purchases.
- Proficiency with MS Windows administration for end-user computers, network servers and MS Exchange.
- Proficiency in client system installation and configuration, print services, security, and installation of service packs and third party software.
- Knowledge of Ethernet and Telecom wiring installations and troubleshooting.

Salary range $70,000- $80,000 DOE + potential annual bonus + comprehensive benefits package
