Job Summary 

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading an international regional sales team, generating business opportunities and providing support for Mizuho OSI’s medical device products and services to hospitals, clinics and physicians within a specifically defined geographic region. 

The RSM is responsible for managing assigned Regional Sales Specialists (RSSs), and Distributors within a defined region.  The RSM is responsible for attaining revenue goals and following defined corporate strategies to support the goals and values of Mizuho OSI. The RSM reports to the Senior Director of International Sales.  

 

Responsibilities: 

Distributor Partner Management 

  • Lead the selection, onboarding, and long-term development of distributors across the CANMEX region. 

  • Conduct regular business reviews to align goals, track performance, and implement corrective actions where needed. 

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and distribution partners, driving accountability and performance. 

  • Support distributors with sales strategies, product positioning, training, and pricing guidance. 

Sales & Market Development 

  • Deliver regional sales targets and market share goals in line with corporate objectives. 

  • Identify new opportunities for growth, market entry, and expanded adoption of the company’s medical device portfolio. 

  • Support product launches and market access initiatives with tailored distributor strategies. 

Customer & Clinical Engagement 

  • Strengthen relationships with hospitals, healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and procurement stakeholders. 

  • Partner with clinical and marketing teams to deliver educational events, product demonstrations, and training sessions in collaboration with distributors. 

  • Ensure distributors are effectively communicating clinical advantages and value propositions of products to end-users. 

Operational & Compliance Oversight 

  • Ensure full compliance with medical device regulations, ethical business practices, and company policies across all distributor activities. 

  • Provide accurate regional forecasts, pipeline reporting, and business intelligence to senior leadership. 

  • Monitor competitive dynamics and adjust distributor strategies accordingly. 

Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, regulatory, supply chain, and finance teams to support distributor needs. 

  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for commercial best practices within the EMEA region. 

  • Align regional distributor management initiatives with the company’s global strategic vision. 

  • Understand Mizuho OSI’s business objectives and the relationship between the Department and those objectives; to support and follow the Corporate Vision, Mission & Values Statements, to maintain the services and quality levels set by Mizuho OSI, and to continually enable Mizuho OSI to be a great place to work. 

  • Understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI’s internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).  

 

Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • 7+ years of commercial experience in the medical device sector, with proven success in distributor management and sales growth. 

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, procurement practices, and regulatory landscapes across Canada and Mexico. 

  • Demonstrated success in developing long-term, high-performing distributor relationships. 

  • Strong business acumen, negotiation, and contract management skills. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with cross-cultural adaptability. 

  • Fluency in English required; additional Spanish preferred. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.  

  • Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, ability to learn new processes quickly.  

  • Knowledge of hospital industry and human anatomy and/or medical device marketing experience preferred. 

  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities, and ability to maintain good working relationships while dealing appropriately with sensitive and confidential matters and with a wide variety of personal contacts. 

  • Extremely organized, detail oriented, and the ability to meet deadlines and deliver on commitments. 

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Ability to display positive teamwork across business functions and interdepartmentally. A high level of collaboration and communication is essential in the team environment. 

  • Ability to execute a defined budget and manage within the budget. 

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and manage contract labor effectively.

  • Able to travel up to 60% with some weekend travel internationally. 

  • Must live in assigned region.
