Job Summary
The SAP Employee Central Payroll Analyst serves as a member on both implementation and maintenance of the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) system with primary focus on SAP ECP configuration. This role partners cross-functionally with business and Payroll partners across the organization to deliver solutions for our internal business needs. This individual will drive the successful delivery of payroll systems, supporting business applications and processes, contributing as a subject matter expert to the development and execution of a strategy for operational excellence within the payroll function.
This role will be an integral member of the IT team, recommending process improvements, building and configuring our SAP ECP system to function efficiently and effectively. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Applications and will work closely with the broader HR, Finance and IT teams with the functional and technical skills to roll out sustainable/scalable solutions.
The successful individual in this role will be expected to grow team expertise, work closely with a partner(s)/vendor(s) on solutions, and be the payroll systems go-to for collaboration and architecture guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead projects related to system upgrades, implementation, configuration, testing, and deployment activities to support the review and analysis of system requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Configure and maintain the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll module to support payroll processes, including wage types, payroll schemas, and tax calculations.
- Provide technical and functional expertise and thought leadership regarding ECP, as well as HR systems and tools supporting payroll processes and reporting.
- Act as a liaison between the IT and key business partners including Payroll, HR, Finance, Internal Audit, etc. Build and cultivate stakeholder relationships with the ability to keep them engaged, responsible and dedicated in resolving a variety of payroll systems issues and working toward deliverable goals and objectives.
- Resolve complex data issues which involves completing in depth analysis and evaluation of issues and researching and developing solutions for data reconciliation. Independently determine the best method to approach researching and solving data issues.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for system upgrades, implementations, and new feature rollouts to ensure seamless functionality.
- Support data replication between Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll, ensuring data integrity and resolving discrepancies using SQL or other analysis tools
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with technical teams to resolve problems promptly.
- Work with functional customers, technical teams, and product management to define priorities, develop solutions, and manage change processes.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations, and support reporting requirements for payroll and HR analytics.
- Introduce innovative ways to improve the process of delivering solutions to employees and contribute to changing management and training efforts.
- Serve as a functional expert and provide support and coaching needs on system usage for both payroll and cross-functional staff. Providing functional support for end-users help troubleshoot and resolve system issues
- Lead end-to-end configuration, testing, deployment for recurring payroll programs
- Proactively seek ways to automate, streamline, meet business needs, and address areas for improvement
- Provide training and demonstrations for business stakeholders
- Perform audits of ECP to ensure consistent and accurate data. Ensure policy and process changes are updated within reports and payroll file feeds.
- Communicate and build partnerships with vendors(s) to keep abreast of updates, issues, and case management
- Collaborate with HR, time, and payroll stakeholders to gather and document functional requirements, translating them into technical specifications for system enhancements.
- Facilitate discovery sessions and business process workshops. Be able to diagram and elaborate current & future state application workflows in detail
- Be forward-thinking in developing new features, functions, and product enhancements.
- Streamline HR and payroll processes by implementing the best practices and leveraging SAP ECP functionalities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Requires 8- 10 years of related experience with increasing level of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, MIS, IT, or other related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in system management or implementation on SAP SuccessFactors ECP or combined ECP and other related to the payroll systems.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations, and support reporting requirements for payroll and HR analytics.
- Proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) and related modules (e.g., Employee Central, Time Management).
- Experience with data replication between Employee Central and ECP.
- Familiarity with SQL or analysis tools for data querying and issue resolution.
- Extensive knowledge and practical application of Federal, State, and local employment laws is a plus.
- Knowledge of payroll tax compliance and BSI Tax Factory (desired).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex payroll and system issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Commitment to excellent customer service.
- Experience coaching and mentoring team members to grow internal knowledge of SAP ECP.

- Experience with SAP Commissions a plus.

Salary Range: $138,000- $160,000 DOE + potential annual bonus + comprehensive benefits package
