Job Summary
The Technical Writer effectively writes technical manuals, product guides and other related required documentation. The Technical Writer also oversees writing, editing, updating and authenticating technical and promotional marketing materials for all Mizuho OSI products and services.  The Technical Writer ensures documentation meets all standards and/or industry requirements. The position writes and reviews technical input and documentation for both new and sustaining product development. The Technical Writer provides expertise in understanding technical language and converting those specifications into product manuals or guides that will aid the user.

Responsibilities:
•    Write technical materials including but not limited to equipment manuals, product guides, operating and maintenance instructions, and other Marketing communication, as assigned.
•    Convert complex technical content into clear, concise, easily readable text or tables, charts, and graphics that focus on end-user needs. 
•    Collaborate cross-functionally between marketing, engineering, regulatory teams, and others as appropriate, to create and update content in a timely manner to meet project            needs.
•    Ensure that written content facilitates translation into multiple languages, checking for clarity, conciseness, consistency, and removing jargon or idioms.
•    Work with and manage vendors, including translation services, and graphics or creative services, as needed.
•    Ensure documents adheres to company’s content and layout guidelines and meets company’s graphic standards.
•    Maintain current technical product knowledge for new and existing products.
•    Analyze existing content to determine need for revisions in previously published materials.
•    Collaborate with the regulatory team to ensure compliance with all regulatory agency requirements and other applicable standards and regulations for labeling and publications. 
•    Ensure that the company website is up to date on all technical specifications for all products.
•    Train and instruct other members of the department and the company by passing along skills and information to assist them in their development and advancement, either with         one-on-one or with platform training skills, as applicable.
•    Perform independently, as well as in a team environment, to analyze problems and formulate plans to overcome challenges and to get work done quickly with a high degree of           quality. 
•    Make sound and logical decisions and choose the appropriate courses of action based on the available information.  
•    Continue to improve the Company and the Marketing department through personal action and by contributing ideas to support both the Department and Company’s ongoing              improvement efforts.
•    Understand Mizuho OSI’s business objectives and the relationship between the Marketing Department and those objectives to support and follow the Corporate Vision, Mission &        Values Statements, to maintain the services and quality levels set by Mizuho OSI, and to continually enable Mizuho OSI to be a great place to work.
•    Understand, follow, and support Mizuho OSI’s internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21          Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).

Qualifications & Requirements:
•    Requires minimum 5 years of related experience; minimum of three years medical device experience. BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Ability to decipher highly technical information and convert into content optimized for end user; skilled at organizing information into a clear, concise written form.
•    Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
•    Proficiency with DITA, Adobe Acrobat, FrameMaker, and InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite. 
•    Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Oxygen, and content management systems preferred.
•    Experience in a Quality Control environment; knowledge of ISO standards.
•    Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills.
•    Ability to work independently to establish and accomplish goals and to be a positive and productive team member. 
•    Detail oriented with the ability to learn new concepts and apply them quickly.
•    Excellent customer focus with a high sense of urgency. Ability to provide excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Ability to communicate effectively in English with employees and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner (additional languages a plus).
•    Ability to function calmly in a fast-paced environment.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
•    Flexibility in managing and reprioritizing projects based on shifting deadlines and proposing working solutions where conflicting priorities exist.
•    Respond sensitively to the needs and feelings of others regardless of position; accept interpersonal differences, maintain rapport, and interact effectively with all levels of                    employees within the organization.

Salary Range: $104,000 - $136,000 DOE + comprehensive benefits package + potential annual bonus
